Hey barleymalt, 2nd one doesnt do much for me, kinda busy with no clearly defined focal point and the background is noticeably soft, but not soft enough, or sharp enough to be in focus.
The first one however has potential, I see a much harder crop (your horizon is dead centered) to make the fence the subject, a levels adjustment, bring your highlights up a bit, increase the vibrancy and fix the area on the main fence post, 2/3 way up just around the horizon area, you also have a couple of dust spots to correct and add a deep red filter and adjust opacity to suit.
Or I could just do it and show you what I mean.........
Camera angles need some work. They're both super-busy in my opinion. What is the subject in #1? Please don't say the entire thing. I'm incapable of seeing the entire thing at the same time. There must be a focal point. Is the fence the focal point? Then why is it so close to the edge of the frame?
