I like the first one, nice colors and nice subject. I would have closed a little more the diaphragm to gain depth of field, as the background doesn't seem in focus like front (am I wrong? Is it due to my monitor?).

YOure not wrong. I may have shot this in "potrait" mode instead of landscape. Im still experimenting with the "blur" factor. Sometimes I like it, like in photo 3, where it belongs better to suit. Probably should have shot 1 in landscape. Ugh, Im learning. Chalk it up to lesson.
