what lens, #1 looks really sharp to me, not sure how much sharper you want it. haha

That is taken at 185mm on a canon 75-300.. Not nearly as sharp between 200 and 300mm.. Not every day you get a chance of being this close to the birds! :)

Nice images, The Cormorant and Duck look pretty sharp. But your right, your lens get really soft at longer lengths. I do like the Oystercatcher also...

The first and the second to last images stand out imo, very clean backgrounds and pleasing composition. Well done!

wow, amazing shots! Such beautiful colors & details...very nice!

Really amazing shots! I see what you are saying about some of the photos being blurry though. It's not that bad, these are still great shots. :)

I have a Tamron 70-300 and have the same problem. But you succeeded really nice on those ones! #1 and the duck are my favorites! :-)

Thanks for your comments! I am now waiting for a canon 300mm f/4 + 1.4x tc! So hopefully I will post some more (and better) pics soon :)

The thrid one is my favorite. Thanks for sharing!

These are suberb! I love your cormoran, sharp close-up
#2 and #4 have beautiful composition.
in the duck picture, I love the colors in the water, and the expression.

The Cormorant shot is great!!

I wish you had a sharper lens too! I would really like the third one to if it was a little sharper.
