Hey guys!

I posted a couple weeks ago shots from my first shoot with a model. They turned out really well, but there were some things I needed to work on. I think this new shoot went a little better, but there are still some things to work on (isn't there always?)

Let me know what you guys think!
Thanks!!

There are about 50 shots total that I decided I liked from this shoot. Number 1 has one that is in color and a little more normal (I love the PP on it, but It might be too much :-\)
I posted the rest in a set on flickr, that you can check out here.

#1 Try a tighter composition. waist up maybe and do it in landscape.
#2 nothing really exciting going on for me in that photo.
#3 The sun is too bright
#4 Again the sun is to bright. try taking the picture in the shade.
#5 I like this one. Good composition and interesting backdrop. I think that is your winner =)

Thanks man!
I totally get what you mean. I'm really upset I dont' have like an off camera flash or something for the third one. It was really hard to get those shots to turn out w/ her in enough light...but I really just love how the lines of the fence come off onto her body like that...one day...*looks off and dreams*

Thanks again man!

3Bay took all the good comments, but for shots like #3, a reflector can work wonders; even just a big piece of white or light yellow posterboard can make a world of difference to your shots.

Amazon.com: 43" 110CM Round Multi Disc Light Reflector! Portable, 5 in 1: Translucent, Silver, Gold, White, and Black! Collapsible! Perfect for Studio or any Photography Situation!: Electronics <-- THIS.

When I bought it, it was $17+free shipping.. looks like they realized they could get more for it and hiked up the price. It's excellent quality. In any case, grab this and a reflector stand and you're in business. It does wonders.

Here's a shot I did in November with my neighbor's daughter. We were completely shaded under a tree, used the gold reflector to light her up. Didn't have a stand, but her dad was more than willing to assist. :D

That looks good with the gold reflector. Nice job! =)

Wow, so for that cheap of a price was able to make that large of a difference? That is amazing. $27 still isn't that bad of a price if i'm looking at getting that much of a lighting difference. I'm probably going to pick that up with my next paycheck.

And I realized just now that I need to re-caibrate my desktop monitors. I'm on my laptop right now and I never realized how dark my shots really are.

#3 is just gotta go man! sorry but that pose isn't working for her at all.

Yep, like Tirediron mentioned, you can even use posterboard to reflect diffused light back onto the shadowy sides of the subject, works just fine. No need for expensive equipment. :) I just really like this 5-in-1 reflector because of all the options it gives me. I don't like bringing a whole lot of crap with me.
