Nicely done, especially with grey skies! Great separation of the subject in both. I love how the shape of the leaves in the first one sort of mimic the shapes you see on the bird.

Thanks guys - the "dude with the 440 volt featherdo" is a crested crane - the leaves in there I was mostly thankful that they were not sticking out of its head

Great shot of the crane! These guys were quite common in Kenya, but I never got a shot quite this nice.

Many thanks all! The light was a bit dim, but at least when its all overcast one gets a nice even lighting that's not too hard to work with so long as the beasties are not darting around like crazy
