I like 2 and 3! Number 2 looks a little washed out but the photo is charming =). Are you shooting RAW?

No, I know my camera has this option but I have never selected it. What is the advantage or disadvantage of "shooting RAW".

Thanks for the like! :)

I like 3 the best. 2 is a little washed and 1 is a little off since the young one is almost out of the frame. Nice otherwise

1. The subject ( or what I assume to be the subject) is falling out of frame - be sure to leave room, so there is some space between the subject and the border.
2. Same thing here, and it looks like you missed the focus.
3. Really busy, no clear subject

The first 2 look slightly out of focus to me, and look overprocessed. Investigate "compositional guidelines", "rule of thirds", and "framing" (falls under the first one). Keep at it!

number 1 - blown out - falling out of the frame as mentioned. Background vanishing point- cut off.
number2 - blown out but not as bad as number 1 - feet cut off.

Number 3 - tilted - SURPRISED NO ONE POINTED THIS OUT.

Here it is " un-tilted"

much better

Best of the bunch.

What about a re-crop, a conversion to B&W, a bit more contrast, a little sharpness... Something like.. Just a thought.

and then re colorize it and boost the saturation up to a number not yet recorded by modern science, and then upload it to...

Thanks for the feedback. I love the crop on #3. I really see how that changes the focal point. I am attracted to the colors in the 2 picture. I don't have an editing program, I am happy with. So part of it is bc I edited it in Photobucket.

I'll keep looking for the feedback. I appreciate it. :-)

Basically, RAW captures in almost binary code. It collates information rather than a picture. This makes it easier for your computer to understand in editing and allows for a much wider range on what you are able to do in the editing process. This is the simplest way I can think of to explain it and I am sure other people can explain it much better. I just hope this helps. Nice shots above but you should pay more attention to depth of field. Over-all composure is good but as the DoF is out in No 1, the background becomes too busy and distracts the eye from the subject. The colours are a little bland but that is more down to the light on the day rather than anything else. It's really tough to get a striking image on a grey day. Hope this helps.

I'm going to go against the flow here... I think #2 trumps #3. #3 just doesn't have anything in it that interests me. I'm diggin' the red spackle against the yellow spackle against the sky in upper right, but it's so small in the frame, it holds almost no weight. The left 1/2 of the image is weak... brown lifeless branches going every which way. Same with the right 1/10. I think if you had shot a slightly longer focal length and used a portrait crop of just the road and balanced it with the red and yellow leaves above, it would be a much more colorful and effective photograph.

#2 captures a real, non-posed moment. Framing isn't great, but it's an authentic moment. While it may not be a general artpiece, it will be more treasured by those two guys long into the future much more than #3.
