These pics i took with the Nikon D40 that i recently got and these are the best i have taken with this camera.
I really like this camera a lot and iam looking forward to get some nice pics when iam starting to learn more and how to get some decent pics.

Love the second shot.

The second is a pretty duck and you captured it nicely. Maybe holding the camera vertically would have helped framing it even better (and would have eliminated the bright spot in the upper left, too, by not even including it in your frame at all).

I think you should get eye-level with the birds. In these pictures it just looks like your looking down at them.
