Here are a few shots I did before being sideline because of surgery. Feel free to C&C if you like I have good pain meds so I can take it lol.

1. This little guy wasn't having a good day so I had to get some shots of him on the run or when he wasn't paying attention.

3. Probably should crop a little off the top?

No c and c sorry, but I like them. Where is #3 taken at? I like the water in the background.

#1 has some strange light issues going on? It looks like he has no neck and I noticed light right by his cheek that is distracting?

I think #2 is better, I like it!

yes, good shots, but they need a little cropping. I love the color in the last shot!

It was taken in front of a fountain in downtown Lexington,KY. The fountain is about 1 city block long.

I think the lighting is not quite right in them. They are either underexposed or overexposed. The middle girl needs to be cropped. Not sure I like the orange glow on the last picture although her skin looks better warmed up there is too much. Looks like you had a reflector right under there. No 4 is the best one IMHO but could have benefited from some fill flash and cropped a bit more.

Good try though you have the makings of a decent portrait photographer as your poses looked natural and well executed. But the exposures need improvement.

Sorry to be a bit negative there. Good luck with it.

This is a small edit I did in a few minutes. It's not great but gives you the idea of what I mean. But with a bit photo shop know how you can salvage those images, But the best thing of all is to take them right the first time and save yourself time post processing.

Don't be sorry for being negitive cause I didn't take it as being negitive, plus you had some good things to say. The way I see it us noobs will never get better if we can't handle the truth on things we need to improve on. I do like your edit and agree that the pic need warmed up a bit. The good thing is both of the girls are friends of my youngest daughter and both girls love being in front of the camera so I have no problems getting them to let me use them for practice.

I just lightened her face, hair, and skin with the dodge tool, and then sharpened her eyes. Then I used the sponge to re-saturate the skin a little. That's all it needed. Other than that the photo was well taken as the DOF was perfect (because she was in focus and the background blurred).

When you took the photo you could have used some flash or a reflector to put more light on her face which was all that was lacking. If you take these in raw then you can often fix these little glitches and salvage the photo and turn it into a better photo.
