Hi,

We went to the zoo the other day and I took some great shots, but there were a few that didn't satisfy me. That's one of them. I know there's something wrong with this shot. How can I improve it?

Thanks, Paul

It was very cloudy and snowing.

its soft because you used your 70-300mm(im guessing) at 300mm and most cheaper lenses at their highest zoom tend to be soft, which is why the picture is soft.

Hate to break the bad news, but that is a red panda - not a fox. LOL

why such a high ISO?

It was very cloudy and quite dark that day. As you see, The image still isn't very bright, and I couldn't go with a lower shutter speed since it would cause bluriness at 300mm. I'll take my tripod on my next visit to the zoo.

That's right. I used a Nikkor 70-300mm G AF. :(
