I think your on-line presence would be much better served with something more 'business casual'; a long-sleeved, collared blouse or similar. I don't think a t-shirt really projects the ideal image, but then I'm also just a little bit >< conservative.

I don't know a single photographer (I'm talking about real life, not forums and such) that has anything formal on their about page. It's all casual. Maybe that's just how we roll here, I dunno, but I am *never* ever, ever, ever, ever, ever business casual. Not in daily life, not while shooting, not while at work... it's just not me or my personality, and it wouldn't feel right having something like that up on the site.
I mean, c'mon. I have a BRIGHT RED streak in my hair.

The ONLY person I can think of that has something more business casual on their page is my friend Doug from back home, but that's because 1. He is a wedding photographer, so he will dress like that when he meets you and for your wedding and 2. He dresses like he just walked out of an Express catalog in daily life. Even if we're just chilling, getting together for coffee and doing NOTHING professional at all. But that's HIS style and personality.
Why not do a casting call on MM or something like that? I'm sure you'd have no shortage of photographers wanting to shoot TF* with you.
Because I'm not short of photographer friends here, and I'm not looking to do a full photo shoot. I'm also insanely picky about who I let photograph me in a formal sense. There has been a dude here bugging me about it since I moved here and I keep telling him no and putting him off, because I hate his work.
The guy who took this shot is a good friend of mine, he had the studio for the day because he was doing a photo shoot with another friend, and I stopped in at his invitation for a quick couple of shots just so I could have something to throw up on my webpage, because right now it's a shot of me and my husband together, and as much as I love my husband, he needs to go away.
Matt has taken another photo of me that I REALLY like and have been using as my profile picture on Facebook, forever now, however I'm in an Abercrombie hoodie and I refuse to post anything branded (especially by that company) on my website, and... as much as sporting a hoodie is a usual look for me, I didn't want to be wearing a hoodie in the shot I used. That would be a tad TOO casual for me to display on that page.
