A "how did he do it" question.

Is anyone familiar with Keith Selle? He's a brilliant photographer of alternative/tattoo models. In some shots he does this thing where he makes the final result look, well, fake. But it's a really cool effect if that's what you're going for.

What is he doing to get that smooth/white skin?

And...

What else can you tell as far as what techniques and filters he's using to get that over all fake look?

Looks like he's using some exaggerated skin smoothing techniques for the skin; something like Photoshop CS6's Surface Blur filter or a Gaussian blur. The hair and socks look like they could have been run through a plug-in like Fractals or he's using one of the painting filters in Photoshop. He's obviously heavily controlled them in some way though. Hard to tell exactly which. I quite like it though.
