Not the best photo (old Sony compactcamera laying around) I'm afraid, but absolutely a rare waterspout. In Dutch it's called 'waterhoos' and for me it was the first time to see something like this, so I thought it would be nice to share with you.
Our apartment faces the North Sea, so we could enjoy this phenomenon from our living room.
Things like whirlwinds and waterspouts are very rare in my country, but in the past few weeks we had exceptinal warm weather (up to 33/35 degrees Celsius) and several waterspouts have been seen, although I think this one was a bit lost and passed the Netherlands many, many miles off the coast.
