The title suggests that you're going for something pretty definite here, but I am not feeling it.

There's a strong sense of looming here, for obvious reasons, darkness, and it looks like the steeple at the top is crooked? There's a sense of the off-kilter here. Printed large I think this might come across as a kind of creepy dark image, with some religious overtones. It's all extremely vague, though. Vagueness isn't a problem, really, the photo is certainly evocative and that's a good thing. I'm having trouble connecting the title to the image.

Agree with you. Maybe the crooked steeple is not an effect of ultrawide used off parallel plane, maybe is really not strait. It looks like there is some sort of brace around the tower. Crooked tower = crooked religion = corruption ?

Thanks for your thoughts. The tower is indeed crooked, which is crucial to the point I wanted to make with this photo; crooked and corrupt being synonymous.

I like the image fine. Not a fan of dramatic titles....they give viewers preconceived ideas about the image. And if an image sucks, a dramatic title makes it twice as lame...lol

But I like the dark base here..and the trip skyward. Not bad IMO

I don't get it.

The tower is very old (about a thousand years have passed since its construction) and its shape/form has become corrupted over time: it no longer looks straight up to the heavens above but, rather, is slowly bending over to look at the ground below. In another sense, the church has also, it seems to me, deviated from its original path and concerns itself more and more with wordly affairs (money, power, politics, etc.) rather than spiritual ones.
