I'm certain a few Ospreys recognize me for sure.. They do their head bobble and then just ignore me. I think I was less than 30 feet away from this one. I spent about an hour with her and tried playing around and getting some different shots... The Fall colors sure make a sweet back drop. Some are noisy as I shot several at ISO 800 on the D300 and didn't want to push the noise reduction too high.. As always comments welcome...

Excellent shots! My only complaint is the oversharpening on the third shot. Other than that, I love them!

Very nice! #5.. that "look" reminds me of one my teachers I had back in elementary school... lol!

Thanks! I'm having a hard time telling on #3 I left LR default at 25 and 1.0 then just used an USM at .4 and 50%. On my big monitor it looks good, on my laptop it doesn't...

LOL, I think we all had the same teacher, I remember that look as well :)

Very good shots imo. Amazing how close you were able to get, they are very fierce looking birds.

outstanding, #1 is my fav. the expression, the background, everything just works, the face is a little under exposed, but that doesn't matter too much the shot is definitely top notch.

Beautiful shots! Love them all especially 1 and 5. Number five's expression is so comical and cute.

Fantastic pictures. I like the first one best.

Thanks everyone!
Very cool!
i thought osprey would be gone by now?

Everyone seems to think the Ospreys just blow out of here the first week of September. That is true for the Adults. The Juveniles stay behind for quite awhile. The last one I saw last year was december 8th here in CT, so I have a solid 6 weeks left until only a few straggler here

nice bokeh in the first one! and I really like the contrast between the well-lit osprey and the dark background in the second one

this might sound odd, but I'd love to see the first one without any noise reduction done on it. it feels like we're losing something in the feathers especially around the neck...

I've been on a 'no noise reduction' kick with my own images recently and I kinda like it, for some reason noise doesn't bother me as much as it once did...well luminance noise at least, color noise is a little different...

Wow, these your ospreys just keep getting better.
