Since I'm new to this as well, I can't really give a helpful critique on techniques, setting up, etc...
From an artistic standpoint though, I will offer you this suggestion: Try to crop out the large black rocks on the left and right sides of the image, and leave the sunset and the rocks in the foreground. When landscape painting, using flat black is a no-no because it distracts the eye, and the same can theoretically be said for other forms of art such as photography. Without those two black masses in each side of the image, the eye should gravitate towards the sunset and the rocks which are reflecting the sun. Again though, this is just a suggestion. The photograph is lovely as-is.
