Absolutly LOVE my Nikon 50mm 1.4D

As I shared with you guys about a week ago I got my Nikon 50mm 1.4D of ebay (170$), it replaced my Nikon 50mm 1.8G which I bought new and never really worked too well on either my D7000 and the D7100.
On the weekend we had a street festival downtown Toronto and my wife and I went to check it out.
I didn't bother to bring any lenses except my 50mm 1.4D as it was night and this is the best weapon I have for low light photography.
And I gotta tell you I couldn't be happier, the lens is proper sharp!!! leaving my 50mm 1.8G far behind in the dust.
Having an f1.4 when its very dark is VERY helpful I can tell you that.

Here are 3 pictures I took in high ISO (mostly 3200) both my D7100 and my 50mm made me happy

Strange I replaced my 1.4d with a 1.8g and found the g to be a far better performer below f2.8. Which is to be expected considering the lens design.

Perhaps something was defective with your 1.8g.

Yes my 1.8G was a lemmon but the 1.4D is so good that it blew me away.
I am loving it and as you might see is very excited with it.

I also think the advantage of the bigger apture while isnt big still is minimgfull and I enjoy its benefits very much.
