Abstract fun- Can you guess what it is?

Took this one a while ago but I don't think I ever shared it here.
It has a "light at the end of the tunnel" vibe, I feel.

Can ya guess what it is?

Well, my mind jumps to sparkly ocean wave in the fog (yeah, not logical, but that is what it looks like to me). The material looks like something you could use for scrubbing, but as I said, my eye/mind want to see sea foam and tossing sailing ships.

What's got me kinda confused, is that you imply that the scale is large (ocean waves), whereas the apparent depth-of-field implies that we're looking at a macro (ish) shot with a rather thin DOF. The material doesn't really look like water (too smooth, the bends are too straight, the sparkles are too distinct), and yet your answers about macro-scale guesses all imply that we're at the wrong end of the size scale. So let me put out this guess: It's a frozen wave of liquid methane on Titan, shot by the probe before it lost power and contact?

Ahh! I see I haven't been descriptive enough. Size scale is definitely macro. Whats off is the idea that its a rough, sandy texture. Your answer was close, because it was in the correct texture/elemental genre.
