Abstract macro C&C please

Hello everybody.

I tried to take a few abstract macros, I won't tell you, what it is, and let you guess (although I think it's pretty easy).

I would like to read you comments and opinions about these two images. Click for a larger version and EXIF on Flickr.

Oh, and do not hesitate to be harsh, I can handle that, and I want to learn.

First one is good, but the second is excellent.

The second is a butterfly and is a great shot. Right?

IDK what the first one is, but it reminds me of Lava flow.

The first one looks like another wing or feather. The second is a butterfly both good macros and I am liking the fact that the second was shot with the Tamron right. I love to see pics with lenses I might like to invest in the near future.

Yes, both are butterfly wings. And both were take with the Tamron.
