ACC event

Hey everyone this is my first post on this forum, so hey! I just bought a FinePix s700 mainly because I dont own a camera and thought it was about time. I picked it up today cause I figured I might as well get it now because I am attending a WWE event at the air canada center tomorow night. Needless to say I would like to take some great pics and was looking for some tips. Im reading through the manual now and will be doing so for the next few hours (its huge,lol). I figured I could also learn alot from experienced people instead of just a manual, so that is what I am doing here. I'm just kind of learning about aperture and all that stuff (still dont quite get it). Anyway I was just curious about general stuff I should keep in mind due to the whole atmosphere of pyros, fast movements and lots of other camera flashes. Sorry for the long post but thats my situation. Also any tips on photographing fireworks would be great. Any advice would be awesome.... I'm looking for wisdom:hail:
