Addiction

I can have the same struggle. It can be fun to joke about, but sometime "Internet addiction" isn't just a buzzword. I don't think it's a problem unless it interferes with other activities, but if it gets in the way of school or work, then it would probably be good to try and do something about it.

I'm not sure if you are joking or really looking for advice. You're on here a lot, but that alone doesn't mean that there's a problem.

PHP in my preference, but most of what I'm doing right now is in VBScript for ASP, which I'd rather not be doing. I do a little bit of coding for myself when I need to, but it's something that I want to get away from. My head just isn't geared for it anymore. My code orginational skills, while always weak, are now pretty well shot. That's why I spend a fair amount of time here and at WWDN. If I try to code, I just stare at the screen. At least this way I can do something relatively constructive. I need to make sure I keep myself paid, though. Thus the stress I mentioned in another thread.

I'm curious, how many hours a day does everyone spend online? I'm easily an hour even when I'm busy. On a boring, rainy weekend it can be all day (and much of the night as Orie and Manda know!)

Even if I'm not on for an extended time I check my email at least 6 times a day. Yikes!

I'm online a lot. I telecomute, so when I code, it's working on files that are at the office over a secure tunnel. Much of my work is web-based.

Mine checks every five minutes automatically, and I'm probably on 8+ hours a day.

Only 6 times? Pffft...I don't know how many times I check my email in a day, and usually I just get one (junk) email each day...
