Adv. Tips Thread

Hey guys.
I created this thread for beginners and experts alike, for sharing more complicated tips on digital photography. One of mine is make sure to slow your shutter speed appropriately when changing the aperture for a landscape shot (e.g. F22) so your photos won't darken. Photo examples are greatly appreciated!

Canon 500D, 18-55 IS Lens, 55-250 IS Lens.

You mean, get "proper" exposure? Doesn't this apply to every photo you take?

And 'proper' exposure really isn't 'advanced'. It's Photography 101.

Noooo, I mean specifically when using aperture like 22 or 32, not in general. Also, disable the image stabilisation for ****ter speeds slower than 1 second, it adds make blur, especially in excess of 10 seconds.

So........... stop your lens down, use a long shutter speed, turn off VR/IS.............and create blurry landscape images. Sounds like a winner!

How about the tip of not using such small apertures if you at all value any kind of sharpness in your apertures? Diffraction will get you every time.

Always remove your lens caps or your photos will turn out really dark!

Thanks guys. I'm a student in South Africa. I joined this forum to learn more about photography. Looks like it's full of trolls. I just started this thread for people like me who can use a camera, but doesn't know any of the advanced things

It is not an ADVANCED setting. That is what we are trying to tell you. What you were telling us is the most BASIC photography 101.
