Beginner camera for photos and video

I don’t know about other brands but canon DSLR’s are limited to 29 min 59 sec of vid time at one go

Thanks that is nice of you to offer. Do you use it for video at all? How is the video auto focus? I've read somewhere that Canon has better video AF than Nikon but don't have any personal knowledge of that.

Sorry, I rarely use it for video so I have no useful feedback for you on that.

I'd look at the Sony A6400 if the budget would allow.
