Hi everyone,
I am new here. I am not a professional photographer - I am mostly a hobbyist who really enjoys snapping pictures whenever I have free time. I love urban shots, landscape, plants, everyday photo. I am a big museum buff and I have to frequently shoot without the use of flash. Being the artsy person I am, I find that shooting in RAW allows me much more flexibility in Photoshop. I am looking for a good camera that offers plenty of room for personal growth as a refine my photography skills, but affordable enough that I do not have to sell a kidney to buy a camera
I have been reading about the micro 4/3 system and I find that it suits my needs because it is lightweight and has a wide variety of lens to choose from.
I already own an Olympus E-620 (Four-Third) with two Zoom Lens for the Four Third system that I bought at the bargain price of less than 550$ at Best Buy a couple of years back. Someone recently bought me a Micro 4/3 Panasonic Lumix 20mm f1.7 lens thinking it would work on my cam - it does not, therefore I am looking to upgrade.
There has been lots of buzz going around the Olympus E-M1 being the best M4/3 out there, then there's the Panasonic GX7 and of course the Olympus Pen E-P5... The choices are really vast and I am kind of lost as to what would be a good purchase.
Is the E-M1 really worth the 1500$? My biggest fear is that the camera will be too complex for me and will be wasted in my hand, but a less performing camera will not offer the same quality and versatility.
