Advice on Nikon purchase

My local store has a 80-200 2.8 nikon and i was looking at it and it looks as good as new but they said they need to get 800$ out of it...that seems kinda high for this lense even though it may be just as good as new its still used and i was expecting to here between 650-700

just wondering what your thoughts were and if it is overpriced or what i should pay for this tank?

If you search eBay for completed listings ... you will see the Nikor AF 80-200 f/2.8 ED ranges in price between $500-1000.00

1k for the same lens at the local camera store. Also saw one on craigslist sell for $1000 the other day...

Maybe not what you're wanting to hear, but for $700 you can get the Tamron 70-200 2.8. Super sharp lens, nice build and fast autofocus. I just shot gymnastics with it a couple of weeks ago and it kept up. Just an FYI
