This is Sippie, african grey parrot. I enjoy taking pictures of her and would love to know your opinion about this one. Thank you in advance.

I'm not an expert by any means, so I could be completely wrong in my critique; but my (untrained) eye keeps gravitating towards the bars stretching across the bottom of the photo instead of the bird. And the background is a bit distracting with the wires(?) and the big brown thing protruding from behind the bird.

i see now that the brown thing (wood) is disturbing indeed. i didn't mind the bars because they are repetitive and i thought that could add something but i see what you mean. Thx!

Maybe the bars in the background would add something if it covered the entirety of the background, but because they suddenly stop and the background transitions to solid green, it makes the photo a bit 'noisy,' if that makes sense. My eyes were all over the place because there's so much going on. I think if you were to eliminate all of the distractions, you'd have a gorgeous photo on your hands!

Your focus seems good and the detail on his head fetahers is great. I agree about the bars and background though. Have you tried a really tight crop to just include the bird ? It might work.

I would suggest cropping the bars and the green out. That way you leave just the bird. The bird itself is great, but the things around it aren't so much.

Much better.

I really like the crop. Love AGs too!
