After 50mm 1.4, what do you recommend?

yeah, you are right!

100 f2? How could you possibly determine that? WOuldnt a 100 be too close, even for a full sensor?

I just looked at the image and the depth of field. Of the lenses in her list I thought only the f2 would be able to produce that bokeh. Wide angle lenses (unless used very close) don't produce that bokeh. Regards distance, many were outside and therefore plenty of room. You can shoot a full length portrait with any lens if you are far enough back too......

50mm is wide enough for 1.6 crop factor.
I might suggest to get 85 (1.8 or 1.4 or 1.2) your call, a perfect lens for potrait. IMHO
and the canon 85 1.2 to me is a "must buy" lens, if I use canon it's the first lens to have.

if you still need wider perspective, I see you already have a nice 18-55, maybe not the best out there but it's not a bad lens either, and it covers your need.

My kit consists right now of 3 zooms that I consistently use. The 10-22f3.5, the 24-70f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8. My primes are a 28mmf1.8, 50mmf1.4, 85mmf1,8, 100mmf2.8 macro and 135mmf2.0L and the 1.4tc. My next two will probably be the 200mm f2.8L(best prime value out there IMHO) and the TS-24mmf3.5L. (Maybe not a true prime in the purist sense of the word, but it looks like a really fun lens) I really love primes. Except or long glass, this pretty much allows me to shoot anything I want. I am working toward the 400mmf2.8 for sports and wildlife.
