What's new

after editing photos

You should keep the originals because you might come back later with more editing experience and skill and take another shot at it.

after im done editing my photos do i still keep the original or can i just delete them??

I always keep my originals - wouldn't dream of getting rid of them. You never know when new advances in "processing" technology will come along and you will say - "I know just the image I could use that on!" - take for example the recent introduction of "Content Aware Fill" in Photoshop. If you delete them, then you have lost that "original" record" - maybe that is not important to you, but it is sure important to me.

Cheers,

Always keep originals. You never know, you might want to revisit it.

If you had a negative or a slide as an original, would you burn it?

If you don't feel like you need to keep the original, then you probably don't need to keep the modified version either.

Like everyone else i always keep the originals.

If you keep the original you can always reproduce the final. If all you have is the final copy, there is no way to go back and reproduce the original.

I have two 3 TB drives mirroring each other to backup all my RAW files. So yes, I keep the original files and back them up too! :D
