Nice comment sleist, that was great humor, thank you. But my logic goes this way: if I wanted to not be a sheep, I would start taking photos with my TL2, I figure there must not be all that many people who shoot with that camera for me to follow and baa behind. Either way I go; Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc., I'm bound to be sheeping along with someone. As reality may have it (or not depending upon your belief-structure), I was shooting with a Powershot this whole time anyways, so its not like all of a sudden I'm a Canon sheep.
Why do I want Nikon? I've seen short films made with it on youtube, the D90 specifically, and I fell in love with it since that is one of my main life goals as a hobby, to make short films.
I realize since I can apparently save money for something I want, I could save for the XL2. However, when I do my short films, I'm going to have a Camera A and a Camera B. A CANON XL2 is almost four-thousand dollars, so two is going to take awhile. I figure I'll skip the car chase scenes and fast movements and go for the cmos instead for doing these short films. Since cmos seems to be the cheaper alternative, and I'm not looking to professionally make films, I figure I could just stick with the D90, but since a new version is coming out, I could just save up for two of those, considering two Nikon D95s would be just a little under the cost of one XL2.
And I'm not even considering saving for the Panavision Phantom...what a camera...
I'm sure I'll be happy with this camera, and I'm sure I won't outgrow it anytime soon.
Thank you all for the comments...looking forward to hearing more of all of you...
