What's new

Aids Memorial, my first print I'm thinking of selling.

This is the new composition pre-post. 3 exposures that I ran through HDR Pro (not for a hdr look I might add). I aim to brighten the darkened areas of the statue and add stars, clean up the lens flare etc.

What do you think?

Just looked in another monitor and blimey its dark, I will rectify this. Still after thoughts on the comp

Do you own a flash?

On second thought, do you own a flashlight?

Cover the lights on the ground and hand paint the sculpture,
Colors?
Strong backlight?

try to have a more even pattern of lighting, so its not just lighting one area entirely

like in this picture, the top half is illuminated, and the bottom is dark

try to have the whole sculpture lit up, or at least both sections (top and bottom) partially lit up

imo the first one was pretty nice.

I've got an SB speedlight, although I'm not sure how even the spread will be on that thing.
Although I like the idea of the torch, since the background is negative space not having to worry about the spill is nice. Saying that I won't be able to go back and snap that statue now for a couple of months, but the three exposures give a fairly decent spread of light that could be blended together using layer masking to give an even spread. The image produced last night only took 5 minutes and it was just to show the composition, if I spend a few hours in post I think I could get it looking quite nice.
