Hi there, just starting on the forum after a first try some time ago. Just learning how to use the forum and refreshing my broken English as well.

Well, I did not expect to get 0 comments with more than 100 views. I don't know what to think. Is the picture really bad ? Not exciting at all ? Or did I do something wrong ? Feel free to express yourself, nothing looks worse to me than no reactions at all.

I think the name of the picture had me confused. I am not quite sure why its called alive and kicking.....

With regards to the picture, I like the lighting and the effect but I cannot quite understand why it was taken. Is he some kind of fighter? If so he's a bit skinny so it can't really be that, but he is in a fighter type pose.... oh I am so confused....

Welcome back to the forum Bigbang! I like the shot, and I suspect that the title confusion might just be a translation point; no worries, I can guarentee that your English is a hundred times better than my <insert your native language here>. It's not unusual for a post to receive dozens or even hundreds of views without a reply; this is usually because (1) The image is good; not great, not horrible, but good, and most members can't find anything that needs saying about it, or (2) The poster hasn't asked for comments/critique ("C&C") and therefore people look and move on. If you want comments, especially critique-type comments than it will help greatly if you ask for it in your post, and your title, for example: "Alive and kicking - C&C Please".

Kinda reminds me of a scene in the Matrix. I think it's a powerful pose, light is great. What I don't like it the landscape orientation, it's too tight vertically.

@tirediron : Ok, I got it, thanks. I did'nt know about the C & C trick, I will remember it and be clearer if possible about what I expect for the next ones, hopefully. Never mind for this one, I didn't find how to modify the title, but it does not matter too much.

@Trevert1t : Thanks for your comment. I wanted to try something slightly different with the format, as people would usually use portrait format on this kind of images, I guess.

BTW, I don't know what are the expected behaviour about other posted pictures, i.e. how many comments are expected to be posted on someone else images when I post one myself, and so on. I will discover progressively, I am just landing back and I thing this is the second picture I ever posted here. Will try to improve my american English by the same way ;-)

I like the lighting. I hate the pose. I think he looks like he's slouching and with his arms lifted that high all I can see is armpit hair. If he straightened his back and dropped his elbows, I think I would love this.

About the pose, I understand that some of you might not like it, but it was precisely what I wanted to do. I wanted to have some kind of mouvment.
