Surely whatever editor you use MUST have a way to tilt/rotate the image. Look into that please.

That is a **** load of images to C&C.

Just C&C on the first 5. I'll take the rest down for now.

Picture sidewaysness fixed,
and took down the last 4.
C&C on what I have up please =D

Let's take a break from the norm. Why don't you C&C the first five for us? What do you find interesting, unique or inspiring? Where do you find deficiencies?

I like the way you think.

I absolutely love the first one. I see nothing wrong with it, other than the top if the circle being cut off. Kind of kills it for me. =/

Second one I like as well, although it's just a jar laying in the sand. Nothing special. The lake-bed background is kind of distracting.

Sky is a bit overexposed on the 3rd one, and again another distracting background, not too interesting either.

Distracting background once again.

Subject is kind of boring, and the sand bar across the bottom of the picture kinda throws it off?

That's all I got.
Now let's hear you?

Where is that, and why doesn't someone clean it up?

Omaha Nebraska, Lake Zorinsky,
it's been like that since this winter. (All the water is gone from the lake).
During the spring it probably had about 5-6 feet of water in it.
Not sure if its a annual thing, due to the snow, since I've only lived here a year or so,
but it's a great place to take pictures.

Do you see the pattern of you own C&C? You started off with self esteem and high regard with the images. "I absolutely love the first one. I see nothing wrong with it,........."

Then you settled down and thought about those images with a bit more critical eye. "Second one I like as well, although it's just a jar laying in the sand. Nothing special. The lake-bed background is kind of distracting." On the verge of self-deprecating , don't you think?

Furthermore....
"Sky is a bit overexposed........"
"Distracting background..."
"Subject is kind of boring, ..."

That's all I got.
Now let's hear you?

I've got nothing else other than I think you are clocking on to important stuff, even if you're not aware. Now you are improving.

Glad to know I'm improving!
Although on that first one, I do really love. I feel it's one of the best pictures I've taken so far. The only thing I felt is wrong with it was the top being cut off.

^-^

Dont take this the wrong way. I'm trying to figure all this stuff out too.... To me, it looks like you are pain just trying too hard. To me these shots say, "Today I'm going to go out and shoot interesting pictures. No matter what." It reminds me of what I would produce back in high school & college during photo lab when we were assigned to go out and shoot for an hour to apply what we just learned in class. Not that I'm much better now....

If you want your photography to be interesting, shoot things that interest you.

Notice how your most interesting photo is the one you like the best?

I think the problem with most of your pics is that you have a way to shallow DOF.

#1 &2 would of looked great with EVERYTHING in focus. Why is the broken pipe(?) the focus? It would have looked good with the pepples and the background in focus too.

I like #4 you just need more contrast... I think all your pics do.

#3 and 5 you need to crop out that blurry foreground because it does nothing for the image. Again way too shallow DOF

@ twotwo, Actually I was driving home from my girlfriend's, saw the lake, then impulsively just pulled over and went out to take some. I just kinda shot what was there, not so much forcing myself to. But I understand what you're saying! because i've done that in the past.

Also, Sabrina, definitely appreciate that =]
Most of the things I took were in my camera's "Super Macro" mode. I just thought it look better that way? Not sure.
But thanks ^-^

I think you are still in the stage where you are in a little aw of what your camera can do compared to a normal P&S. And that isn't a criticism, we all start somewhere. Although the things you are shooting may not to be interesting to everyone, they might be interesting to you... something sparked you to take a picture of it afterall. What I like about your pictures is the perspective. I think you are on the right track, it just takes practice. You will eventually stop taking pictures of something just because you can, and start taking pictures of things for a purpose.
