He told me his name, but of course, my addled brain didn't hold on to the information. But hey, I know where he lives! LOL.

I do intend to take him a couple of prints and see if I can get permission to hang out there, as I'm betting there will be some other interesting things at that pond over time, and maybe I can also find out more about the Eagles and whether he can get me on to that land as well. That would be awesome.

Sounds like the guy was just worried that you were wanting kill some stuff on his property and than realized you were not there to do that kind of thing..

Oh, I'd forgotten this part. He told me, after he invited me to go onto the property, that if I saw anyone out there with a gun, I should "chase them off."

I told him that I am really not in the habit of chasing people who have guns.
