The original shot appeared a little flat. So i decided to try and jazz it up a little, using the natural tones of the surrounding area. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Wow... I love the color. It sets the mood. Nice shot. It was wired for me when i found out Ireland has palm trees... Could not believe it... Still don't actually.

You have been busy with a filter on the camera but more likely in postprocessing. Nevertheless there still is insufficient visual interest to make this an effective image.
