I put a bat house up a few years ago. We have a serious issue with EEE and West Nile in this area so anything that eats mosquitoes is welcome in my yard. Maybe next week I'll setup a stand and flash and see if I can get a few shots coming and going. But this is all I have for now.

I would have loved to have gotten a headshot but a it looked like there might be babies in the corner. At that point I didn't want to bother them too much.

I ended up using back button focus and hitting the top of the house then moved under to shoot up inside. It took a half dozen shots to just get that one

Hey, I think it's amazing you got that much! And I love that you have a bat house. I know bats freak a lot of people out, but I kinda like them. (They really are cute ears!) We had a bat house on campus at the U of Florida where I went for undergrad. It was fun to watch them all flying around at dusk. And you're right - anything that will eat mosquitoes is fan-friggin'-tastic to me!

Now that I know it will work I'll put up a few more. We can't even have Friday night high school football anymore because of the mosquitoes.

Just give them lots of room. Bats are the most rabid animal in the US, with an average of 65% of the population being rabid at any given time.
