Sorry for going off for so long unannounced, and it seems you guys really missed me.. At least some of you did :lol:

Anyways, here's a couple of creatures found only in and around India so must be unique to you guys. Let me know how you like them, and if anyone has seen them :)

Yay!! :boogie:

I love that a bat is called a flying fox. He's a cutie! We have bats but not like that. Nice shots!

That's one weird-looking bull. Body is like a cross between an elk and a buffalo, with the face of a horse with horns. Or something like that!!!

Nice, nope, can't says I've ever seen these. We have bats, usually out on the abandoned mines here but not like those.

I am eager to see them. Which part of India!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait, I thought you didn't like me! :( :-P
Yup! These are huge, almost the size of a fox, hence the name. These are harmless though, and mostly eat fruits. Thanks Leonore :)
Very Cool.Never seen them before, nice shots.
Thanks David :)

Thanks Bamps, these don't hide in the mines though. They live in open areas, and can be seen hanging on to trees in the day time.:)

You mean the Nilgai(Blue bull)? Both of these are found all over India, you can visit you local zoo and I'm sure you'll get to see the Nilgai at least.
Great shots, Raj.......I like the bull better. I was thinking you might have a water buffalo, but this one is different.
Thanks Izzi :)
The bull looks like he was put together out of left-over spare parts; the Indian equivalent of the platypus?
Lol.. at least these are not poisonous (or ugly :-P) .

Hey...most of my friends from the US who came to visit me in my Aussie home loves our platypus. They even want to take it back here to the US. I warned them that a platypus needs a lot of water to live and swim on...They all think it is unique and beautiful.

:lmao: take it back? They do know it's poisonous right? BTW I didn't really mean it, I am the biggest platypus lover there is, I find them fascinating. They have so many unique traits - I mean who doesn't love a creature that has the foot of an otter, the tail of a beaver, a duck's bill and lays eggs too.. :biglaugh:
