I have recently been exposed to archery, and I like it very much. I think I will eventually buy a recurve bow. I need to measure my draw length, and get advice on how large the bow should be. Luckily we have a local club.

So, anyone into archery? :)

Not for a while. A few years ago I was. It's a lot of fun. I wish I still had time for it.

I started an Archer thread last year and no one replied. Where were you?

Does hunting count?

I didn't start until recently. Netflix suggested it to me and now I'm hooked. ;-)

my EMT used to do competitive archery. recurve bows mostly. now he just does it on and off for fun. His wife just got into it though so maybe he will get serious with it again.

Thats def. an old compound bow, kids too maybe?

Indeed! That's not a recurve, though. Is that some type of old compound bow?

It's a Browning Black Knight compound bow. I'm not sure about the precise age but I bought it used back in the early to mid 90's when we moved to the county. I shot a many of arrows through that dude and it's been restrung a few times. I know they make newer improved bows but I can't bring my self to part with it.

I used to shoot recurve. Now I just shoot a compound bow from time to time. Guys at the archery club said I moved down to training wheels

Wow! Years and years ago, soon after the first compound bows appeared.
I shot in a league at an indoor range for about a year.

IPSC and IHMSA (Metallic Silhouette, Unlimited pistol) shooting took over.
