Just posting a few of my photos from a recent test shoot I did for Click models. Curious to know what any of your opinions are on the lighting, contrast just basically anything

Pick at it, dissect it, just want some good feedback on how I could possibly better myself the next time around. I'm sure the first question will be why I didn't use strobe or flash, i'll just get that out of the way now and say I prefer hot lights/continuous. Shot on Kodak Portra 400

I like the 4th one the best. Very neat technique paired with a good pose.

I like the third one best. The shadows work very well with the pose. In numbers 2,4 & 5 the shadows are distracting, in my opinion.

Have the model sit away from the backdrop this may help eliminate some of the hard shadows.
Also, try softer light. that's just me.

Well others have addressed the shadows and spacing between the background, I guess the thing that draws my eye is that in all of these you've got a lot of empty dead space at the top of each photo. Other thing that struck me right away was her facial expression. I'm assuming from the darker setting and the harsher shadows you were going for something "moody" here - but I guess I'd like to see at least a couple of shots where she doesn't have a look on her face that says, "I just swallowed a mouse".

Could just be my of course, YMMV.

Well the thing is the shadows were done on purpose. I was going for a Vincent Peters type of look, similar to alot of his editorials. Most people I come across dont seem to be big fans of shadows, personally I like them, gives the image something extra for me. It's all a matter of preference I suppose. Just didn't want it to be thought the shadows were accidental
