Anyone ever put their work on a canvas?

Was walking around the french quarter a couple of weeks ago and saw this art shop that posted regular photos onto a leathery canvas. And hung them like a framed picture. Only problem was it was their own photographs; not some average joe with a camera.

Has anyone ever did this to one of your photos? Is it expensive?

I'd like to take some of my best ones and hang them up in my room. They looked really cool. I've been looking for something artsy to hang up and this would be perfect.

Yes I have.
I happened across a deal on living social that had over $100 worth of product for 70% off, so I snagged it and had a photo printed.
It is quite popular with house guests, more so than the standard framed/matted photos around the house.

Cool. lol that's exactly what I was thinking. I'll have to check out that shop the next time I'm in the quarters. Just have to take a picture good enough to be canvas worthy.

My favorite lab charges 32.50 for an 8x10 on canvas.... which is not bad. And they print directly on the canvas... instead of the old lifted emulsion mount they used to use. I had it done with a print back in the 80's... but haven't tried it since then.

That sounds somewhat reasonable. I just checked that Living Social site that Dominantly mentioned and they had the same deal. 70% off a 16x20. It comes to about 30 dollars. Not sure of the quality or process but I think I might just give it a shot.

It'd be nice to see some of my work like that.
