I hope you don't mind that I had a quick go with your first image. I am still new and learning and think I might have overdone the eyes a bit! Sorry about that.

Nice job. It is my opinion that you could have done a bit more to really make it pop, but over all you did a very nice job.

Here's what I came up with. I used the spot healing brush and also did some skin smoothing. Added a little pop to the eyes, and performed some red removal, shadow lightening, and whitened the blanket.

I've been playing with Lightroom..I'm very new at this, but I thought I would give it a try. I have a lot to learn about skin tones. I didn't want to do too much with the skin smoothness.. I like a more natural look.

I chose to edit the last one... And I use Gimp. Not Photoshop...
