Aperture question

Sorry to ask I just don't know. If you have a 50mm f/1.4, is that the only aperture available or is that the maximum available? I guess what I am trying to ask is can you change it, like in AP mode?

The F number in the name of a lens, is the Maximum aperture. With most every modern lens, you can adjust the aperture smaller...probably to F22, F29 or smaller.

Rarely is this a problem, but you if you are interested you can look up a lens's aperture range as well. B&H lists this kind of information, I believe.
