Are my pics any good??

Hi all
I have been taking pics for a few years when traveling and really have fun taking them and trying to make a good one,
I'm new to putting my pics on the internet and tryed twice now to join istock to try sell them. I'm not a designer and maybe I'm not taking pics that a designer would want but I thought they are quite good!!
Any way I would love to hear what you guy's think...

Selling stock images is getting more and more difficult by the day because of the proliferation of digital cameras. You may have simply been rejected because there was nothing there that interested them. A few thoughts:

1. Detracting bright area image left, deep shadow around the stems and the far cap is soft.

2. Too dark and lack of ground-level detail.

3. Under-exposed and the dreaded 'rolled condom' bokeh.

4. Blown highlights on the building image left, deep shadow around her right eye.

5. Too much sun; it's blown and uneven.

6. A little under-exposed near the bottom, lacking detail in the feathers.

Overall, I agree, they're nice photos, and the points I've mentioned are very minor, but getting into stock photography today means getting them pretty much perfect.

What product or service would be using the pictures you are putting up? Who is the intended purchaser?

Stock photography is not about putting up a nice image. Its about finding a target market and making images that suit their needs.

85% of all the images that sell, for anything, have people in them.

For stock houses today, any image with people in them require a properly executed model release form each person in an image.

for instance, if you make an image of only a portion of someones arm, but they have a scar, blemish, or tatoo on that part you photographed, that makes them recognizable and you'll need an ironclad model release before the photo will be accepted.

Be sure and compose you photos so there is space for ad copy.
Be sure the image is made so it can be used in several different aspect ratios, including double truck ads (across two facing pages, including the gutter).

The hottest stock images right now are of old people. The least accepted are nature, animals, landscapes, sunsets.

I have been looking at a lot of images on istock and i know you are wright saying about people in them but I see a pic of a 'cow' with over 1000 downloads and a 'wall' also over 1000 downloads, so I guess anything is used if it is needed.
