Tried getting a macro shot as good as @wobe's useing my 40mm F2.8 macro lens, the problem would be a $250 lens & a $1000 D5600 correct?

His eye & head are focussed properly at least,

F11 40mm 1/400 ISO720 probably needed more light, i went back to the cauliflower with the speedlight but he had flown off.

The lens is a AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G
