I don't but you never can tell. We shall have to wait and see if the op is looking to attach it to a tripod for a telescope or to a telescope itself. :wink:

Because we don't know the kind of telescope you have.
For instance, for my Meade ETX scope attaching a camera directly to the mount is difficult. As it was not designed for something like that. Thus the only solution other than heavily modifying the mount, or getting another mount, would be to piggyback it to the telescope.

It's very hard to properly interpret what people say and what they are thinking without as much detail information as possible.

I could have replied, but didn't know your telescope.

Do you have a telescope mount to which you want to attach the camera? or are you looking for such a mount? If the second, then this links to one manufacturer of such mounts: http://www.ioptron.com/. Patrice (in post #3 above) showed one way to mount a camera to a telescope mount. The actual method will depend, of course, on the type of mount you have, and the fittings available to mount telescopes or other instruments.

The picture you link has the cameras attached to standard heads, which in turn are held onto a platform with what appears to be 3/8" standard bolts. The platform itself is somehow fastened to the telescope mount - which again depends on the actual fittings supplied with the mount.

Ok, that's fine. The challenge you will have is that your mount has to be properly aligned to track the object perfectly. To build up enough light to see the galaxies, you will need a long exposure, or a series of exposures that you can then stack. In addition, depending on your local situation, you will need to compensate for skyglow which can make longer exposures problematic. There are various techniques used to increase the signal/noise ratio, but they are not easy to do without the right equipment and preparation.
