Autofocus face recognize; set secondary? Canon 80d

Hi -

Playing around with autofocus on Canon 80d.

Take a look at this 10 sec video if you would. I want to keep face recognition on while face is in frame, but after it leaves, camera fixes on tree, but I'd like to set it to the bridge. Anyway to keep AF face, but set a default?

lens is 50mm 1.8 opened all the way up.

Maybe someone else will give a technical answer but my guess it focuses on the nearest thing to it, if you want the bridge then manually focus on it or put a viewfinder focus point on the bridge to get auto focus.

FYI i'm not a canon user
