Hello TPF how ya doing? I'm good thanks.

I also posted this in the equipment section but I was hoping it would get more views here. Thanks.

Alright so another question, If your budget would be around a $1,000.00 and you had my equipment (see below). What would you upgrade your body to? A D90 priced newly here for $729.99 (BODY ONLY) or a USED D300 for around $999.99 on Amazon? You see I feel very limited with my D40x I mean it's served me well for about a year now and it's getting a little frustrating with certain aspects (won't get into it). I know most of you will say upgrade your glass. Why would I, Christmas is in 2 months. I know I won't get a new body for christmas my rents thoght spending $329.99 on my 55-200mm lens last christmas was a little too much. Christmas is supposed to be nice small gifts for fun not a new car if you get my attempt at a metaphor. ANYWHOO back to the original question: What would you do in this situation.

I would advise you to give up photography for 2 months and join some sort of club or something to get some socialization. You seem to be really really bored. You can't be a hopeless case however. You do shoot Nikon so there is hope.

Seriously - You have all the equipment that you need to last the rest of your life so get out there and live it.

Spend some of your $1000 on a membership to a hiking club or something. You can get the socialization and satisfy the shutter bug at the same time. Besides your parents might like that idea as well.

I'm really hoping that you did not just take a shot at my social life. What makes you think that I seem really really bored?

Anyone that posts a hypothetical thing like you did must be terribly bored. Let me see. I will go on a gardening forum and ask people how to best spend $1000 since Christmas and parents and blah blah blah. Should I buy tulips or should I buy planting soil. Maybe some shears or gloves. What do you all think. What would you do in my situation?
You must be bored.

I simply asked what somebody else may do with the budget that I have in a choice between these 2 very different cameras. You however appearantly took it differntly. I definately do not have the gear to last me a lifetime if I want to shoot weddings I don't have the neccesarry equipment.
You need to go troll somewhere else.

Blow the entire grand on a camera then.

Thanks for your so called "input" that didn't even answer the original question I had. If you'r here to troll around go away.

Yes it did "or a USED D300 for around $999.99 on Amazon"

So I said blow the whole grand.

Your use of the troll nonsense simply reveals a mental midget status. I'd quit while you still have some stautus as a worthy person to interact with. I am soon to just blow you off as no longer worthy of answering another of your posts. I take it you are a minor child and immature but get over it and start acting like a grown up if you want to play in the photo forum sand box.

I'll play along...

If you're not going to upgrade your glass, which you should, and you're set on getting a new body.

Just get the D90 with a grip. It's a good body, has great performance and ergonomics, lots of external control and WILL last you at least a few years unless you have a CBA (camera buying addiction, much akin to LBA- Lens buying addiction).

But like you said, many would suggest you upgrade the glass first. Myself included.

Yeah you see sobolik I posted this is the equipment section of this forum also where I actually got good feedback unlike yours. The word troll is what it is, google it or something. It would absolutely not bother me one bit if you disregarded my posts i hope you follow through.

Fatty McJ: Thanks for the input but i think i'm going to go with the D300.

Sell your stuff and buy Canon 5D classic like I did ;) The body should be around $1000. Then you have some money from the camera sale to get a prime lens or something ;).

Consider it officially done. Your troll accusations earned you the blown off status. I will no longer pay any attention to your childish nonsense.

Why would I sell my lenses and body, to switch to canon?

Because you have to spend at least $2200 to have a full frame Nikon.. Just a thought.
