100% crops of a couple photos taken with the lens one of my best friends gave me for my birthday. (Canon Zoom Lens EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM. Canon 40D.)

I estimate that bird feeder to be about 35' away?
 
I love watching birds at the feeders - and yet its never crossed my mind to take any pictures ! Nice shots
