Bad Timing...

Here is a re-take of a shot I did months ago. I will need to go back yet again. I found another vantage point after I snapped this one. Also, I was waiting for the sky to light up, had to get to work, and I packed up too early... 10 minutes later the entire sky went red. Hence the bad timing... hate it when that happens. There is also a big owl that lives in a tree near this spot

I found a hole in a fence which offers a view of the bridge deck. Need to check the train schedule... and wait for a good sunrise... and maybe the owl will fly by too...

wear that spot out until you get it like you want it. I"m thinking morning and evening pictures for the rest of the year. Surely that will cover it.

I love the composition - it has great potential definitely (worth visiting if you say that the sky can be even better - I can only imagine).
Even on your photography I can find a few details and compositions worth presenting - awesome place.

That mess is a bugger to sail under when the currents are running. It seems like an endless forest of crap you really don't want to hit, and very very very very slow progress forward.

Thanks guys! Ill be back to try and perfect the shot. Ive sailed under a few times, -for a race called the Ditch Run. (from Richmond to Stockton) and you really need to have the right current. Its the Benicia Martinez Bridge, the main entrance to the Delta in California. As you can imagine, the current rips through here pretty hard.

Never did the ditch.. we never had a trailer we trusted enough and one million tacks did not sound like fun

That's a fantastic part of the Bay Area, and a bit of a hidden gem, as it were.

The Ditch Run was a real *****. Took all day and I ended up getting drunk at the yacht club and sleeping in a field with a bunch of cows. -There is nothing else up there.
