Maybe I'm not being a good critical reader but were you using the 50 to do extended shots like this one that you posted?

Yes bulb exposures heat up the sensor and chew up battery time too.. stabilization, live view... all energy consumers.

Clouds look composited and out of place / scale. Reflections and city are awesome!

Here is the shot unedited; just resized. Clouds are a bit funky but perhaps that's because of the long exposure and my crappy camera.

I was thinking about taking the trolley downtown for some city shots. Also jumping the ferry to Coronado for some shots around there. I've yet to do that. I wanna play tourist, LoL.
