Bay of Fires

I could have sworn I posted this thread last night. Not sure if it got removed or what but it's not showing up for me so here it goes again.
Browsing through my Flickr account I realised I haven't really done any B&W Landscapes.
I had a look through a few thousand of my unedited Images and heard a scream from this one.
Thoughts? Does it work?

I think it has a smooth/eerie feel to it. The tree pulls in the spooky feel and balances out the emptiness in the sky at the same time. The smudged clouds give it a sense of motion.

I like the composition. If I had to nit-pick, I would say the top of the tree gets a little too black, that sort of blob at the very top? It is not too disconcerting, though. I might even like it. lol. Sorry I am not much help!

This is so dramatic! I'd have to agree that if I was being really picky, the smudge in the top of the tree is distracting me.. Compared to how crisp it is below its canopy..

Thanks for your input everyone. It was a 33 second exposure and very windy as you can tell by the sky. The only thing that moved on the tree was the top branches so it smudged it, Oh well.
