I am 22 years old and live in Chicago. I have no background in photography, but it is one of my biggest dreams to become a (semi-pro) fashion photographer. How do I go about doing this? Where do I begin? What are my chances of making it?

Who has said you know how to take great pictures? Post examples of what you can do.

Based on what you've apparently done so far in pursuit of "one of my biggest dreams" I'd say you have little or no chance of "making it".

I wanted to be a racecar driver. So I went to the shops where the racecars were. I did grunt work until I got a chance to show I could drive.

Go to where they shoot fashion in Chicago, instead of spending your time posting in an online photography forum. (Hint: Fashion clothing designers and fashion clothing manufacturers)
